Age and Acquisition
The age of learner can affect the level of their
acquisition. A common observation proves that children are “better” language
learner than adults. It means that the younger children easier to learn
language. The cognitive and emotional developmental changes of childhood and
young adulthood affect language acquisition.
Acquisition of learning second language can be affected
by instructional variables such as atmosphere of the class, and its components
methodological approaches, text book, material, teacher style and institutional
factor. The second factor is context in which how the way they study second
language with its culture since we know that second language or ne language is
quite difficult to learn. Moreover, every learner has different capability to be
master of that language. The last aspect is purpose; all English learners must
have their right and certain targets or goals to be successful learners. A
successful learner can be influenced by their emotional, personal, or
intellectual reasons. As learners,it is important to rejoice in our defeatin
order to quite know your personal and how people learn and something fails to
learn.
Language
When we are studying second language, we must consider
and understand the concept of language itself. You do not need to doubt when
you define it using your own language. Something to highlight is that you must
understand what you are trying to study. In addition, language can develop
directly to all children. Language can be multiple, complex and kaleidoscopic
phenomenon. Language has some composite definitions – language is systematic,
set of arbiter symbol which are primary vocal and visual. They have
conventionalized meanings, and it use for communications. The next, it uses in
community of culture, and it requires to human. The last, it will be spoken by
all people through universal characteristics. There are eight areas which are
suggested for university courses: explicit and formal account, phonetics,
semantics, communication systems, dialectology, human language and language
universal. So, that is why teacher should know about those systems. As language
teachers, they have to fully know about what they are going to teach and its
component. If teachers know the components, they may know how to be successful
teachers.
Learning and Teaching
If
we are going to talk about learning and teaching, we have to know the
differences between teachers and learners. Learning is getting knowledge by study
whereas teaching is helping someone to learn by giving instruction, guiding,
causing to know or understand and so forth. Additionally, teaching may not be
defined apart from learning since we must know that teaching is guiding and
facilitating learning.
