SOME COOPERATIVE LEARNING TECHNIQUES
INSIDE OUTSIDE CIRCLE (USED WITH GUIDED QUESTIONS)
• A half of students in the
class stand up and make small circle; the teacher can name them as student 1,
2, 3, 4, etc (as inside circle). They stand up roundly and face out side.
• The other ones make another
circle out side the first circle; the teacher can name them as student A, B,
C, D, etc (as out side circle). In other word, they stand up roundly and
face inside and pair with the students, in this case student A with
student 1, B with 2, C with 3, 4 with D, etc.
• Two students who pair with
inside and out-side students, such as student A with student 1, can start conversation. A student A who
stays inside can be a student who asks questions and a student 1 who
stays out- side as the respondent.
• Then, the students who stays
inside circle still stay and the out side students move one movement and face
the new partner; now student A with student 2, student B with student 3,
student C with student 4, and student D with student 1.
• Do conversation again like
in number 3.
HOT SEAT
•
A student is asked to sit on in front of the class
• With the topic has been
decided, the other students must deliver questions related a topic.
• The hot seater should answer
the question in quick.
• When the whole classes
finish delivering questions, the teacher asks them to review what they have
discussed
TALKING CHIPS
• Each person starts with
three chips. Every time they speak, they give up one chip. When they have no
more chips, they cannot speak again—except to ask questions—until everyone has
used all their chips.
DICE TECHNIQUES
• Each person starts with a
dice in his hand. After he throws the dice, he explains what topic he gets. And
a vice verse to another student.
