Comunication Stategies
Comunication Strategies pertain to the employment of verbal or non verbal mechanisms for the productive comunication of information.
Avoidence strategies
Avoidance is a common comunication strategy that can be broken down into several subcategories. The most common type of avoidance strategy is Message abandonment and Topic avoidance.
Compensatory strategies
·         Circumlocution
·         Approximation
·         Use of all- purpose words
·         Word coinage
·         Appeal  for help
·         Stelling or time gaining strategies
Syntactic or lexical avoidance within a semantic category. Phonological avoidance is also common, as in the case of a javanese tennis partnerof mine who avoided using the word rally and instead opted to say, simply,’’ hit the ball ‘’. Topic avoidance in which a whole topic of conversasion might be avoided entirely.
Compensatory Strategies
Another common set of communication devices involves compensation for missing knowladge. Code- switching is the use of a first or third language whithin a stream of speech in the second language. Yet another common compensatory strategyis a direct appeal for help, often termed appeal to autority. The lish of potentially useful communication strategies is not limited to the 13 listed in table 5.3.
Strategies- Based Instraction
Much of  the work of search ers and on the aplication of both learning and communication strategies to classrom learning has come to be known generically as strategies- based instruction.
